Trio of Wildcats Compete at Widener Field Meet

Villanova fielded entries in pair of events at local meet

CHESTER, Pa. - A trio of Villanova freshmen competed in two events at the Widener Field Meet at the Schwartz Athletic Center on Friday afternoon. The three first-year athletes from the Wildcats were in action in the shot put and the weight throw.

Freshman Alexi Stershic (Yardley, Pa.) and classmate Katherine Petruzzellis (Annandale, N.J.) finished back-to-back in the shot put. Stershic came in 11th out of 31 competitors with a throw of 10.00 meters and Petruzzellis tied for 12th place with a distance of 9.92 meters.

In the weight throw freshman Jamie Klein (Hawthorne, N.J.) placed 14th out of 21 entries with a throw of 10.38 meters.
