Ward Runs NCAA Provisional Qualifying Time in 55m Hurdles

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Complete Results The women's track and field squad had a good showing at the Albany Great Dane Invitational on Friday evening at The Armory Track and Field Center in New York. Sophomore Shericka Ward highlighted the meet winning the 55m hurdles in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.86. Ward also ran the 200m dash and finished sixth in 24.97, a conference qualifying time. Senior Makalia Griffith ran 56.95 in the 400m hurdles for sixth place and a BIG EAST qualifying time. Freshman Shannon Browne clocked in at 2:58.07 in the 1,000m to earn third place and a trip to the conference championships. All three Villanova entries in the pole vault qualified to the BIG EAST Championships. Junior Ashlyn Llerandi cleared 3.65m and earned second place, while sophomore Melissa Meggiolaro finished third clearing 3.55m. Freshman Kim Logoyda was seventh as she cleared 3.45m. The Wildcats will return to The Armory Track and Field Center on Saturday Jan. 30 for the NYRR Saturday Night at The Armory II.
