2012 Cross Country: Finished in the Wildcats top five at five of the six meets during the season, including the NCAA Championships ... Registered a career-best time for a 6K course of 21:19.2 in the national championship race and came in 173rd ... Also was fourth on the team at the season-opening Main Line Invitational (16:51.50 over three miles) and the Paul Short Run (21:23), where she finished fifth and 50th, respectively ... Placed 100th at the Pre-NCAA Meet (21:35.9) and 37th at the BIG EAST Championships (22:31.97), finishing fifth on the team at both meets ... Came in 52nd overall and was seventh on the team with a time of 22:06 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.
2012 Outdoor: Led off the 4x800 meter relay at the BIG EAST Championships and helped Villanova win a conference title in the event ... Qualified individually for the BIG EAST meet in the 1500 meters and came in 13th in the preliminary heats (4:30.38) ... Established a personal best time of 4:26.90 in the 1500 meters at the Virginia Challenge ... Opened the season with matching third place finishes in both the 800 meters (2:12.28) and the 1500 meters (4:31.54) at the Big Five Invite ... Came in eighth out of 74 runners in the 800 meters (2:10.24) at the Colonial Relays and placed 28th at the Larry Ellis Invitational (2:13.20).
2012 Indoor: Helped the Wildcats win a BIG EAST title in the 4x800 meter relay, running the leadoff leg of the relay at the conference championships ... Also earned individual All-BIG EAST honors with a third place finish in the Mile at the BIG EAST meet ... Surged to third place with a personal best time of 4:48.90 in the finals of the Mile after coming in 11th in the preliminary heats (4:54.50) ... Lowered her personal best time again at the Columbia Last Chance Meet with a mark of 4:47.42 ... Came in sixth in the invitational section of the Mile at the Penn State National (4:49.11) ... Came in third in the 800 meters at the Great Dane Classic (2:12.74) and seventh in the 1000 meters at the NYC Gotham Cup with a personal best time of 2:51.59 ... Ran the third leg of the distance medley relay (800 meters) at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational and anchored the 4x400 meter relay at the Great Dane Classic.
2011 Cross Country: Placed 54th overall and was eighth on the team at the BIG EAST Championships (22:01.2) ... Made her collegiate debut with a fourth place finish at the Main Line Invitational ... Finished in 54th place out of 396 runners and was the sixth Villanova runner at the Paul Short Run, with a 6K time of 21:34 ... Again placed sixth within the Wildcats lineup and finished 206th out of 305 runners at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational.
Pope John Paul II High School: Six-time Florida state champion, including twice in cross country (2008, 2009) and twice each in the 800 meters and the 1600 meters, winning each event in both 2010 and 2011 ... School record holder in the 800 meters and the 1600 meters (4:51) ... Named her school's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year as a senior ... Invited to participate in the 1st Nike Elite Camp.
Personal: Born 4/25/93 ... Youngest of three children of Ken Schappert and Jane (Ackerman) Schappert ... Both parents attended Villanova ... Father was a member of the track team and an NCAA champion ... Mother was an All-American swimmer ... Has an older sister, Nicole, who was an NCAA champion and All-American for the Villanova cross country and track teams ... Has an older brother, Kenny, Jr., who was a collegiate runner at Tennessee ... Enrolled in the Villanova School of Business and has yet to declare a major.
