Villanova Women Defeat Lafayette, 6-1, To Win Fourth Straight

Villanova, Pa........The Villanova women's tennis team defeated Lafayette yesterday with a final score of 6-1. This is the fourth straight victory for the Wildcats, giving them an overall record of 6-2.

Julie Bonner (Senior / Newtown, PA) began the victorious day for the Wildcats by defeating Lafayette's Meghan Rowe at the No. 1 singles position. Bonner is now 6-0 at the No. 1 singles mark. Freshman Julie Darne competed at No. 2 singles and improved her overall record to 7-0 on the season. Darne is 1-0 at the No.1 singles mark, and holds and incredible 6-0 record at the No. 2 singles post. Ashley Young (Freshman / Easton, PA), Colleen Obsitnik (Senior / Lansing, MI), and Liz Farrell (Freshman / Warwick, NY) were all also victorious at the respective singles positions. All three doubles matches were Villanova wins as well.

Next up for the Wildcats.......The Wildcats take on the Temple Owls today, October 2, here and then its on the road for two away games.
