Back To Back Victories For The Wildcat Tennis Team

Villanova, Pa......The past two matches for the Villanova Women's Tennis team have resulted in victories. First, on Thursday, September 17, the Wildcats traveled to West Chester University to take on the Rams. That road trip proved successful with the Wildcats taking an 8-1 win over the Rams. The next road trip for the Cats was on Tuesday, September 22, when they traveled to Lehigh University. Once again, the victory went to the Wildcats with the same score of 8-1, which brings their record to 4-2 on the season.

Freshman sensation Julie Darne (Bridel, Luxembourg) has had an immediate impact on the Wildcat team this season. Darne's current record is 5-0 with a 4-0 mark at the No. 2 singles spot. Senior captain Julie Bonner has also been successful in her role at the No. 1 singles mark with a current record of 4-0. Ashley Young (Freshman / Easton, Pa.) has an impressive overall record of 4-1, with playing time at the No.2 and No. 3 singles positions. Fellow captain Maureen Kenney (Senior / Lakeville, Mass.) has had equal success at three different playing positions and has an overall record of 3-0. Eight out of thirteen of the Villanova Women's Tennis athletes are currently undefeated on the season.
