VILLANOVA, Pa. - On Saturday, September 5, the Wildcat men's and women's tennis teams were victorious over the Mount St. Mary's squads, with both events totaling a 7-0 final score. The matches took place at Radnor High School, Radnor, Pa.

The Villanova men's tennis team was led by Robert Waibel, who recorded a victory over the Mountaineers Vanaka Gunawardhana. Waibel, a junior from Hollidaysburg, Pa., had a tremendous season last year with an overall mark of 14-3. Paul Moore, Michael Mock, Ramon Prats, Stephen Smith and Josh Schofield were also victorious in singles action for head coach Bob Batman.

The Wildcats' women's team was led by Julie Bonner, who recorded her victory over the Mountaineers Jenny Holliday. Villanova lost the first set of the first match, but then proceeded to win 12 straight sets to claim a win over The Mount.
