NEWPORT NEWS, Va.--Villanova won eight matches total and had two players advance to the semifinals in their respective brackets on Saturday at the Hampton Roads Collegiate Invitational, where competition in four singles draws got underway at the Huntington Valley Tennis Center. Seven of the eight players that were in action for the Wildcats on Saturday came away with at least one victory. In the Flight A bracket junior Mikelle Mancini (Salt Lake City, Utah) tallied a 6-3, 6-1 win over Alex Bell from Drexel but was eliminated in the quarterfinals in a close match against Umarah Mighnee from Howard.
