Villanova wraps up play in day two of Saint Joseph’s Invitational

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.— Women’s Tennis concluded day two in the Philadelphia, Pa. as they took part in the Saint Joseph’s Invitational. Singles matches got underway today as doubles matches will concluded Sunday.

As singles got underway, Claudia Althans was able to edge Mary Washington to earn a spot in the next round of competition. Lexi DeNucci also saw play in flight one, but wasn’t able to hang on as she saw play in the consolation draw.

Villanova saw two singles players in flight two of competition. Alexandra Krogius downed La Salle and Bucknell while Carina Burdick earned victories over Mary Washington and Delaware.

In flight three, Lindsey Evans edged her opponents as Gutman was also able to advance to the next round of competition. Flight four also brought more victories for the Wildcats as Paulina Bajet and Lauren Munari earned a spot in the semifinals.

The Wildcats will conclude play at the Saint Joseph’s Invitational on Sunday. Updated brackets can be found in Saint Joseph’s Tournament Central.
