Sept. 30, 2012
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.--Senior Wesleigh Donadio (Winter Park, Fla.) and junior Mikelle Mancini (Salt Lake City, Utah) teamed up to reach the consolation final in the Flight 1 doubles draw at the Saint Joseph's Invitational on Sunday morning. The three-day tournament at the Maguire and Finnesey courts wrapped up competition in four singles and two doubles brackets today. Donadio and Mancini were 2-2 in doubles action for the weekend after picking up one win on Sunday.
In the second round of the doubles consolation draw Donadio and Mancini defeated Lydia Colvin and Alyssa McAndrew of Bucknell by an 8-6 score. In the consolation final Villanova lost by the same score to the Drexel tandem of Alex Bell and Emma Brook.
Donadio had advanced individually to the second round of the consolation draw in the Flight 2 singles bracket but her scheduled match against Karma Parbhu of Pittsburgh would have been played at the same time as the doubles match that she and Mancini played in. Parbhu later wound up winning in the Flight 2 consolation final.
Next weekend the Wildcats wrap up their fall schedule with an appearance in the Hampton Roads Collegiate Invitational.
