Wildcats conclude day one of Saint Joseph's Invitational

Villanova Women's Tennis competed in the first day of the Saint Joseph's Invitational on Friday. Day one consisted of just doubles matches as the Wildcats advanced two to the next round of competition in the main draw and one in the consolation draw. 

Villanova saw two doubles team in the first flight of competition. Partners, Lindsey Evans and Victoria Martinez were first to compete for the Wildcats as they defeated Drexel in the first round. The duo lost a tough match against Delaware. Also, in flight one of competition Lexi DeNucci and Kaylan Rotman edged their first competitors of Saint Joseph's, but dropped the second match of the day to Drexel.

In flight two, Carina Burdick and Alexandra Krogius were able to edge Mary Washington (8-6), Bucknell (8-6), and Delaware (8-4). The Wildcats will face teammates Claudia Athans and Paulina Bajet as they defeated La Salle (8-4), Drexel (8-0), and Delaware (8-2) to advance to day two of competition.
