Newark, Del. --- The Villanova Wildcat women's tennis team garnered their second victory of the season traveling to Newark, Del. where they defeated the University of Delaware Blue Hens by the final score of 6-1. With the victory, the Wildcats record now stands at 2-1.

In doubles play, seniors Stephanie Ariot and Jen Zick teammed up at the No. 1 spot for a 9-8 win while sophomore Courtney Flezzani and junior Jessie Rybacki earned their second win of the season at the No. 2 position with an 8-2 victory. Junior Erica Walters and sophomore Morgan Flezzani were also victorious at third doubles with an 8-2 triumph over Delaware's Katie Miller and Jenna Murolino.

In singles action, Zick led the 'Cats at the No. 2 spot while Courtney Flezzani, Rybacki, freshman Lindsey Puchyr and Walter all notched straight sets victories.

Villanova will return to play on Thursday, Sept. 26 when they host Lafayette in their 2002 home opener at 3:00 p.m.
