Philadelphia, Pa. --- On Friday, September 15, the Villanova women's tennis team traveled cross-town only to defeat the Temple Owls in a close match by a score of 5-4. The Wildcats are now 2-0 on the season.

Stiff competition came in the form of singles play on the afternoon as the 'Cats walked away with only two wins. Junior Ashley Young (Easton, Pa.) recorded her second win of the fall, defeating Temple's Ercegovic 6-3 and 6-4. The afternoon also saw sophomore Jennifer Zick (Colts Neck, N.J.) claim her second win of the season, beating the Owls' Kumar in three sets 4-6, 7-5 and 7-6.

'Nova swept the round of doubles giving them the 5-4 victory.

The team gets back into action Thursday, September 21 when they travel to St. Joseph's at 3:30 p.m.
