Bloomsburg, Pa. --- On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 7 and 8, the Villanova women's tennis team opened up play taking part in the Bloomsburg Invitational. Several Wildcats notched victories including freshman Lindsey Puchyr who swept her Slippery Rock opponent 6-0, 6-0 and junior Jessie Rybacki who tallied a win over Amanda Willoughby in straight sets.

Sophomore Morgan Flezzani also picked up an early season victory at sixth singles defeating Leslie Noll 6-1, 6-1. Stephanie Ariot, Courtney Flezzani and Jen Zick each took a loss on the first day of play.

On Sunday, the 'Cats got back in action taking on Lehigh in singles play and Bloomsburg in doubles action. Sophomore Courtney Flezzani notched the Wildcats only singles victory on the afternoon while Puchyr and Zick and Rybacki and Morgan Flezzani won at second and third doubles, respectively.

Villanova will return to play on Thursday, Sept. 12 when they travel to Philadelphia, Pa. to battle La Salle in a Philadelphia area match-up. The matches are set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
