Villanova Women's Tennis Closes Regular Season With 6-1 Defeat of Providence

VILLANOVA, PA. - Villanova won five singles matches and went on for a 6-1 victory over Providence in BIG EAST action on Saturday at the Villanova Tennis Complex. The Wildcats improved to 14-9 overall and 3-4 in the conference. Candice Carlin started the Wildcats with a victory at No. 1 singles for her 20th win of the season. Courtney Flezzani, Kelly McAndrew, Jessie Rybacki and Erica Walter each picked up straight set decisions as well. Villanova swept the doubles matches, as Carlin and Reed teamed at No. 1 and McAndrew and Rybacki played to an 8-3 decision at No. 2. Walter and Flezzani then posted a 9-7 victory at third doubles. McAndrew and Rybacki improved to 17-7 overall, while the other duos registered their 11th wins.
