Mikelle Mancini was narrowly defeated in a tiebreaker at No. 1 singles against Temple.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Villanova (6-11) took on city rival Temple (7-12) at the TU Pavilion and was defeated, 7-0, on Wednesday afternoon. The host Owls won two doubles matches to clinch the doubles point and was leading in the third doubles match, which was not completed. Temple also won each of the six singles matches.

Junior Mikelle Mancini (Salt Lake City, Utah) went a third set tiebreaker in the No. 1 singles match. She lost the opening set 7-6 (8-6) to Jordan Batey but rallied to post a 7-6 (7-4) win in the second set. The match went into a tiebreaker and Mancini was narrowly defeated by a 10-8 margin as Batey closed out the match.
