Wildcats blanked by Bucknell

VILLANOVA, Pa. -- The Villanova women's tennis squad dropped a 7-0 decision to Bucknell on Thursday afternoon at the Villanova Tennis Complex, as the Bison swept all singles and doubles matches for the win. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 5-8, while Bucknell improves to 10-1. Candice Carlin lost a three-set No. 1 singles match to Bucknell's Nada Curcic, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. Leighann Reilly also forced a third set in her No. 3 singles match, falling to Veronica Brown, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. Lindsey Puchyr, who played at No. 5 singles, was the third Wildcat to bring a Bucknell player into extra sets, dropping her match, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, to Rheanna Gaskin. Bucknell managed to sweep all three doubles matches as well. Puchyr and Taryn Cappellini found the most success, losing their No. 3 match by only two points, 8-6. Villanova returns to action on Saturday, April 2, when it heads to Providence to take on the Friars at noon. Bucknell 7, Villanova 0
