VILLANOVA, Pa. - The women's tennis squad coasted back into the win column on Tuesday afternoon as they blanked Towson, 7-0, at the Villanova Tennis Complex. With the win, Villanova improves to 5-7 while the Tigers fall to 2-8. The Wildcats took all six singles matches and all three doubles matches to shut out the Tigers, who were unable to overcome Villanova's dominant play.

Sophomore Candice Carlin (Moorestown, N.J.) won her No. 1 singles match in straight sets, defeating Kelly Parsons, 6-2, 6-1. Senior Courtney Flezzani (Pfafftown, N.C.) came back from a set down to win her No. 2 singles match, 5-7, 6-2, 1-0.

Sophomore Leighann Reilly (Voorhees, N.J.), senior Morgan Flezzani (Pfafftown, N.C.), junior Lindsey Puchyr (Allentown, Pa.) and freshman Zoe Murray (Boston, Mass.) each added singles victories for the Wildcats, who never allowed more than a one-set victory. Reilly also came from a set down to defeat Amanda Scaturochio. Morgan Flezzani fought for a three-set victory in her No. 4 singles match as well, defeating Pamela Zager, 6-7, 6-0, 1-0.

Carlin and Courtney Flezzani paired up for an 8-0 No. 1 doubles match over Kelly Parsons and Scaturochio. Reed and Reilly combined for an 8-6 victory over Zager and Audrey Damrongsri at No. 2 doubles. Morgan Flezzani and Lindsey Puchyr won their No. 3 match, 8-4, over Jessica Woolfolk and Alecia White.

Villanova returns to action on Thursday, March 31, when it hosts Bucknell at 3 p.m.
