CHATHAM, N.J. -
The Villanova women’s tennis team (0-11) fell to Seton Hall (5-5) at their spring season home opener at the Center Court Sports Complex on Friday afternoon with a final score of 7-0.
The Wildcats started off strong with the combination of Lindsey Evans and Kaylan Rotman winning 6-4 in the No. 1 doubles spot, but Seton Hall took the next two matches to clinch the doubles point. Carina Burdick and Paulina Bajet pushed a 7-6 (3) match, but the Pirates were too powerful.
Unfortunately, the Wildcats lost all six singles matches. Lindsey Evans competed in the No. 1 slot where she has been competing for the past few matches. Kaylan Rotman moved down to the No. 2 slot. Freshman Carina Burdick competed in the No. 3 slot for the first time this season. Paulina Bajet went 7-6 (9), 6-4 in the No. 4 slot and Alexandra Krogius went 7-6 (8), 6-2 in the No. 5 slot. Lastly, Connor Brewer competed in the No. 6 slot for the first time this season.
Villanova women’s tennis returns to action against Delaware on Sunday, March 19.
