Women's Tennis Drops Match at Drexel Saturday Evening

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.— The Villanova Women’s tennis team traveled to Philadelphia, Pa. on Saturday evening to take on Drexel. The Wildcats were unable to defeat the Dragons as they fell, 6-1.

In doubles, Lindsey Evans and Victoria Martinez lost a battle 6-2 in the No. 1 spot for Villanova. Next, Lexi DeNucci and Kaylan Rotman competed in the No. 2 spot where they dropped a close contest 6-4. Paulina Bajet and Claudia Althans competed in the No. 3 spot for the Wildcats but did not finish as Drexel captured the doubles point.

During singles, Victoria Martinez was the lone Wildcat to capture a victory. Martinez competed in the No. 4 spot.

Next up for Villanova is a trip west on Mar. 2 where they compete against UC San Diego beginning at 2 p.m. Also, while out in California, they face UC Riverside and UC Irvine.
