VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova softball team was named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Girls Got Game All-Academic Team having finished the 2008 season with a combined GPA of 3.238.

The Wildcats rank 41st out of 103 Division I schools on the list. Tennessee Tech University was the top-ranked school with a combined GPA of 3.54. Six other BIG EAST schools made the list. Seton Hall and DePaul were third and fifth respectively, while Georgetown, Rutgers, St. John's and Syracuse were also in the top-103.

The NFCA All-Academic Team list honors high school and collegiate softball teams for their success in the classroom.
