Rhinehart, who just a week ago earned Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Washington, will bring a lot of experience to the mound at Villanova.
“Taylor will be a great asset to the team and help fill a void left by the graduating seniors. She has some really good travel ball experience coming from a premier team in Washington, Absolute Blast,” stated DiBernardi. “She was named Gatorade Player of the Year in her state and also led her team to win the State championship. We are very excited to have her as part of our Nova Nation!”
The right-handed pitcher led Woodinville high school this season to a 26-0 record and the Class 4A state championship. Rhinehart posted a 14-0 mark, a 0.40 earned run average and two saves. She struck out 157 batters in 87 innings pitched, allowing 35 hits and issuing 13 walks.
Other honors that Rhinehart earned this season are KingCo MVP, just last season she was named to their first team, and her sophomore year earned honorable mention. A four year member of the National Honor Society and for three years she was a part of the Spanish Honor Society.
Rhinehart shared, “I chose to attend Villanova University because of the always welcoming atmosphere. I felt already a part of a family right when I got on campus. Knowing that I could fit in and succeed, I saw myself nowhere else.”
