Manning Named Second Team All-Mid-east Region

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova sophomore Molly Manning was named to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I All-Mid-east Region Second team, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Thursday afternoon.
Manning had strong campaign in her second season as a pitcher and designated player for the Wildcats. She posted an overall batting average of .277 with 44 hits, including five doubles and four homeruns. She led Villanova with 29 RBI and scored 15 runs. Manning notched a .384 slugging percentage and a .318 on-base mark.
On the mound, Manning recorded an ERA of 2.99 and earned 13 wins this season. She struck out 130 batters in 154.2 innings of work with 13 complete games and one save.
A total of 256 players from 116 different institutions comprise this season's regional teams, including first and second teams for each region.
The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each region, and all the honorees will now be eligible for selection to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-America first, second or third teams. In addition, conference pitchers and players of the year not selected to the regional teams were added for All-America consideration.
