VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior catcher Meghan Morese was selected to the 2009 Louisville Slugger/NFCA first team All-Mideast Region as announced on Thursday afternoon. This is the second all-region honor for Morese as she was named to the second team last season.

Morese capped off her four years at Villanova with a memorable season that included breaking the all-time homerun record and recording the 200th hit of her career. Morese leaves Villanova atop the record book with 34 homeruns, fourth all-time with 219 hits and tied for third all-time with 47 career doubles.

This season Morese led the Wildcats with a .348 batting average and 54 hits. She turned in 32 RBI and had 15 runs.

"I am so excited for her," head coach Maria DiBernardi said. "She had a great season and a great end to her career at Villanova. This award is the culmination of four years of hard work and I am thrilled for her. We are going to miss her leadership on and off the field, but this is a great ending to the season and her career."
