VILLANOVA, Pa. - Senior Jackie Dempsey was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team as announced at the conference's annual championship banquet held at the Marriot Downtown Louisville on May 7.

This is the second time in her career that Dempsey has earned All-BIG EAST recognition. She was also named to the third team in 2005.

Dempsey concluded the 2008 season with a .313 batting average. She had 45 hits, 12 RBI's, two double and two triples as well as six stolen bases. Her fielding percentage was .955.

Dempsey was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll the week of April 28.
