The Villanova Wildcats are looking forward to the return of their two-year starting second baseman Megan O'Leary. Besides mastery on the field, senior co-captain O'Leary brings power to the plate as she finished third on the team for hitting last season with 10 home runs, 52 RBI's, and 18 doubles. Coincidentally, while posting those 18 doubles last year, O'Leary broke the school record for most doubles in a career with 41.

Praised by her teammates for being "caring", "genuine", and "sincere", O'Leary is the consummate team player. When asked to recall a highlight from her softball career before Villanova, she turned to the moment her 16-and-under team won the Massachusetts State Championship rather than describing some personal accomplishment from her past. As she was determined then to contribute to her team's success, O'Leary has carried this dedication to the Villanova softball team. Coaches DiBernardi and Goss stated, "We asked Megan to play second base for us three years ago, and she has turned into one of the best second basemen in the league. She will always give her best."

Congratulations on an excellent career Megan - Villanova Softball will miss your unfailing ambition and enthusiasm.
