Karen Niwinski will prove to be a critical member for the Wildcats this season. Niwinski is viewed by her teammates with much respect and dignity. This sophomore IF/OF utilizes her natural athletic ability to make herself recognized as an integral member of the Wildcat squad.

According to her teammates, Niwinski is energetic, motivated, and extremely genuine. Her speed on the basepaths and her versatility on the field are her greatest attributes. Coaches DiBernardi and Goss feel that, "Karen is willing to do whatever it takes to help her teaam win. We asked her to work on 2B and outfield and she is willing to accept the challenge. Her confidence as a baserunner makes us want to put her in all close games."

Niwinski's favorite softball moments were her back to back home runs to lead her high school team to victory. #23 blasted her first shot out of Villanova's ballpark this past season. The Wildcats will continue to look to Niwinski for her speed, versatility, and uncompromising determination this season.
