Player Focus Article - Gina Defrancesco

By Mia Brickhouse Well, well, well. There's so much to say about this Junior Wildcat, that our committee had to vote on which information to send out to the public. In her third year here at 'Nova, she looks to make sure no balls get through her infield. You night find her at shortstop, or even behind the dish throwing runners out at second. In her sophomore year at Villanova, Gina batted .238 with four doubles, one triple, and two homeruns. With her being a long-ball threat, teams are going to have to take this Wildcat seriously. While I was flipping through her fanmail, I found some interesting comment about number 21 that everyone should know about. Gina is tough, fun to be around, and determined. When she's at bat, she always seems to know how to hit that spot. One of her favorite memories was in a regional tournament, when she hit a homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the game. We hope she has more memories like that while she's wearing the Villanova uniform. Gina D. is one wildcat that needs to be cut loose.
