The Wildcats will most definitely look to third baseman Melissa Crombet for much leadership this season. This determined senior hails from Edison, New Jersey, and has been an impact player for the Wildcats for the past three years.

One of the captains of the squad, Melissa Crombet leads by example. Her proven versatility as an athlete allows her to play a variety of positions. Her quick reflexes and uncompromising determination to hustle are crucial attributes in the "hot corner" of third base. Fellow Wildcats describe #19 as a focused, courageous, and confident individual as well as a hard-working team player. According to coaches DiBernardi and Goss, "Melissa has the respect of the entire team as well as the coaches. She will play any position and is always ready to help us pull a game out. Whether it is by playing 3B, 2B, OF or DP, we know Melissa will be focused, determined, and confident-and she will get the job done!"

Crombet is also reliable with the bat. Offensively, she consistently comes up with key hits and is viewed as a "clutch" player. Keep an eye on Melissa Crombet throughout her final season with VU softball, and look for her in the future on the sidelines coaching a collegiate team to victory.
