Player Focus Article - Kailyn Bergstrom
April 29, 2000
by Mia Brickhouse Fresh off the racks this first year outfielder comes all the way from Kutztown Pennsylvania, bringing a strong arm and a big bat. She was obviously an all-star in high school and is looking to continue her winning ways here at Villanova. Kailyn is a hard worker who Wildcats fans need to keep their eye on this season. Whether its diving for a line drive in the outfield, or smacking a double into centerfield, this freshman is looking to make her mark from the very beginning. She is a good hitter and a solid outfield, something that Villanova is going to need for the next four years. When we interviewed some of her teammates, to get the inside scoop on K.B.( what her teammates like to call her), they said that she is nice, friendly, and cheerful. Well we weren't sure if that was the whole truth or not, so we did some more research and found out that she is also one of the nicest people you will ever meet. She says that one of her favorite softball memories was winning the PIAA CLASS AA State Championships when she was a sophomore. She started in centerfield and threw out a girl at home to save a run. You senior Wildcat outfielders better watch out for this baby cat, she might be scratching at your feet very soon!
