Women's Softball Player Named Big East Pitcher-of-the-Week

Villanova, Pa.--- Villanova freshman pitcher Keri Stoller (West Linn, Ore./ West Linn H.S.) was named the Big East Pitcher-of-the-Week on Monday, April 13, for her outstanding play in helping lead the Wildcats to a 4-0 record last week.
Against Drexel on Tuesday, April 7, Stoller came on to pitch the final three innings in Villanova's 4-0 win over the Dragons. She held Drexel scoreless in her three innings, surrendering only two hits and two walks, while striking out three and picking up her second save of the season.
The next day against Big East rival Rutgers, Stoller pitched a complete game shutout, giving up three hits and two walks, while striking out five in the victory. With the bases loaded and no outs in the fourth inning, she showed her true dominance striking out the side to end the Scarlet Knight threat.
For the week, Stoller tallied a 1-0 record with one save, pitching ten scoreless innings. In her ten innings on the mound, she gave up only five hits and four walks, while striking out eight batters.
Stoller now has six victories on the season, to go with a 1.79 ERA and a team-leading 86 strikeouts in 86.0 innings.
