In the third game of the first conference weekend series against Georgetown (12-15) the Wildcats (8-13) fell by a score of 5-4. It was a hard fought game as the Wildcats scored runs in both the sixth and seventh inning to try to put a rally together but in the end, the team came up one run short. Overall in the series the Hoyas have taken two of the games and the Wildcats have won one.

The Wildcats needed only the first six innings to secure a victory against the Georgetown Hoyas in their second matchup of the day. After losing the first game in the seventh inning, the Wildcats 8-0 victory was called after six innings because of the run rule. All runs for the Wildcats game late in the game with the `Cats scoring two in the fourth and fifth innings and they put up a four spot in the sixth.
In the first of three games on the weekend against conference rival Georgetown, the Wildcats couldn't hold the Hoyas bats in the bottom half of the seventh inning where they scored six runs to walk-off with an 8-7 victory. The Wildcats fall to 7-12 on the season and the Hoyas improve to 11-14. Both Tianah Hathaway and Dana Morris hit their first career home runs in the game.
The Villanova Wildcats (7-11) will begin their BIG EAST conference schedule this weekend in three weekend games against their conference foe, the Georgetown Hoyas (10-14). It is the first of seven such three-games series' that they will play against conference rivals.
In the third and final game that the Wildcats will play in the Delaware Spring Invitational the Villanova Wildcats took on the Delaware State Hornets. Brette Lawrence matched up against Tara Tursellino. This one turned out to be a pitching duel. The final score was 2-0 Hornets. The Wildcats drop to 7-11 on the season and Delaware State improves to 2-13.
In the final day of the Delaware Spring Invitational the Wildcats took on the host of the tournament the Delaware Blue Hens and put up a very strong offensive performance. The final score was 7-2. It was the first of two games the Wildcats play today. Villanova improves to 7-10 on the season while Delaware drops to 10-7.
The Wildcats two originally scheduled game for today, against Delaware State at 11:15 a.m. has been cancelled due to rain.
