The Villanova softball team’s games at Towson this weekend have been cancelled due to unplayable field conditions. The Wildcats were originally supposed to play Sacred Heart and Towson on Friday, with a doubleheader against Robert Morris on Saturday.

Nikki Alden’s Grand Slam Powers Villanova’s Win Against Yale
With the bases loaded and the score tied 2-2 in the top of the seventh, Nikki Alden stepped up to the plate and delivered one of the biggest hits of her collegiate career. Alden hit a grand slam to put Villanova ahead 6-2, and the Wildcats went on to defeat Yale by a score of 7-4.
Wildcats Win In Extra Innings Over Monmouth
Brittany Husk delivered the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Wildcats a 3-2 victory over the Hawks.

Purdue scored two runs in the first inning, and that proved to be enough to defeat the Villanova Wildcats on Saturday afternoon. The Boilermakers are now 6-17 on the season, while Villanova falls to 7-6.
South Dakota State Gets Past Villanova, 5-3
Despite having more hits in the game, Villanova was defeated by the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Friday afternoon, 5-3. The Wildcats now have a 7-5 overall on the season, and the Jackrabbits move to 10-13.

Freshman Caroline Jones’ two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Nikki Alden to give the Villanova softball team a 4-3 walk-off win over Canisius. With the victory, the Wildcats move to 7-4, and the Golden Griffins fall to 7-8.
