VILLANOVA, PA. - On Monday, Dec. 2, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced its 2002 All-Mid Atlantic Region Women's Soccer Teams, with two Villanova player - sophomore defender Michelle Biehl and sophomore forward Laura Johnson - receiving post-season accolades.

Biehl was named to the NSCAA All-Mid Atlantic Region first team after helping lead the Wildcats to a 14-3-5 final overall record and their second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth in 2002. Biehl is one of the nation's top all-around defenders. She had Villanova ranked first in the league in goals against average (0.44), tied for first in goals allowed (9), and second in shutouts this season.

A dominant offensive force in the conference and on the national scene, Johnson led the Wildcat team in goals (9), assists (9), and points (27) in 2002. She also ranked fourth in the Big East in assists per game (0.47), tied for fourth in points, and tied for eighth in goals.
