VILLANOVA, Pa. - The seedings have been determined and Villanova has locked up the No. 6 slot for the BIG EAST Tournament set to begin on Tuesday, Nov. 4th. The Wildcats will travel to No. 3 St. John's for a 7 pm match in just a few short days. The Red Storm secured the No. 3 seed after falling 3-0 to DePaul on Friday afternoon.
In the 2014 regular season contest, Villanova fell 1-0 to the Red Storm at Higgins Soccer Complex but the Wildcats still hold the upper-hand in the all-time series at 13-5-3.
While the teams have been decided for nearly a week, the six qualified sides were all playing for seeding on Friday night in the last day of the regular season. DePaul claimed the BIG EAST regular season title and the No. 1 overall seed after a record-breaking season for the Blue Demons. They are just one of two Division I programs with an undefeated record and they finished the season with a 15-0-3 mark.
Georgetown is the No. 2 seed while St. John's, Marquette, Providence and Villanova round out the standings.
Quarterfinal matches will take place on Nov. 4th while the semifinals and championship match are set for Nov. 7th and 9th, respectively.
