2012 BIG EAST Championship Bracket

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The 2012 BIG EAST women's soccer Championship field has been set and Villanova (7-8-3, 5-4-1 BIG EAST) will host DePaul (8-9-2, 3-6-1 BIG EAST) on Thursday, October 25th at West Campus Soccer Complex. Game time is slated for 2 p.m.

Villanova makes its 15th appearance in the BIG EAST tournament as the National Division No. 4 seed and is 4-12-4 all-time in the conference postseason, winning the championship in 2003. DePaul earned the final at-large seed and had the lowest PPG average (1.0) of the at-large teams. The winner advances to play National Division No. 1 Georgetown.

In their previous meeting in 2012, the Wildcats and Blue Demons battled to a 0-0 scoreless draw on Oct. 12th. The second meeting of the year will be the 10th all-time between the two schools with Villanova holding the upper hand in the series at 7-0-1.

The 2012 BIG EAST women's soccer championship will culminate in Storrs, Conn., as host Connecticut will serve as the site for the semifinals and title game of the tournament. The semifinals are set for Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. ET. Both will be carried nationally on the CBS Sports Network. The title game is set for Nov. 4 at Noon and will be televised on the CBS Sports Network, as well as numerous regional sports networks, including SNY.
