Villanova Hosts La Salle, St. Francis Thursday and Sunday

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's soccer team (2-2-2) will play host to the La Salle Explorers (4-1-0) and the St. Francis Red Flashes (3-2-1) this Thursday and Sunday as they look to continue their dominance on their home field. Game time versus the Explorers in slated for 4 p.m. on Sept. 12th while the Wildcats will meet the Red Flashes at 1 p.m. on Sept. 15th at West Campus Soccer Complex.
Both contests will be broadcast on Nova Nation All-Access with GameTracker providing live stats for the contest.
Martin leads the team with 12 points via four goals and four assists off of 13 shots while sophomore Reanna Marino follows closely behind with three goals and one assist for seven points. Senior goalkeeper Jami Kranich has been the mainstay in net and has played every minute between the pipes this season. She currently posts a 1.40 goals against average and a .700 save percentage.
`Nova vs. La Salle: Thursday will mark the 18th meeting between the Explorers and Wildcats with Villanova holding the advantage in the all-time series at 16-1-0. The Wildcats last met La Salle on September 9th, 2012 and powered to a 3-2 victory.
A Look at La Salle: The Explorers bring a 4-1 overall record into Thursday's matchup and have captured wins over American (W, 3-2, OT), Marshall (W, 2-1), Old Dominion (W, 1-0) and James Madison (W, 2-1). Their lone loss of the year came at then-No. 9 Penn State (L, 5-1).
Kelsey Haycook leads the team with 10 points via four goals and two assists and is followed closely behind by Anna Dolhansky and Renee Washington with six points each. Katie Getziner and Jessica Wiggins have split time in goal and have combined for a 1.80 goals against average and a .640 save percentage.
`Nova vs. St. Francis: Sunday will mark just the 3rd overall meeting between Villanova and St. Francis with the Wildcats taking the upper hand in the all-time series at 2-0. The opponents last met over 13 years ago on October 21st, 2000 when the Wildcats posted a 3-0 victory over the Red Flashes.
A Look at St. Francis: St. Francis owns a 3-2-1 overall record and has posted wins over George Washington (W, 3-1), George Mason (W, 3-0) and Bucknell (W, 2-1, 2OT). They've fallen to VCU (L, 2-1) and Duquesne (L, 1-0) and have tied against Morehead State (T, 1-1, 2OT) on the season.
Tesa McKibben leads the team with 14 points via five goals and four assists while Alecia McNiff, Ba Maros de carvalho and Eloa Nascimento each have four points on the year. Jessica Andrew has been the primary starter in goal and owns a 0.93 goals against average and a .864 save percentage.
