PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore midfielder Caitlin Forte (Selbyville, Del.) has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her performances against Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth over the weekend. Forte notched the only two Villanova goals in the contests, the first of her career, in a 3-1 loss against the Spiders and a 1-1 draw at VCU.
Forte was a force on offense for the Wildcats in her first two starts of the 2012 season, notching the first goals of each match on Friday and Sunday with assists by senior Heidi Sabatura (Lawrenceville, N.J.) and sophomore Victoria Gersh (Silver Spring, Md.). The conference honor marks the first of her career in just her second year on the squad, while the sophomore midfielder climbs to second on the team with four points and just one point below Sabatura's five for the season.
With the 0-1-1 record this past weekend, the Wildcats are now 1-3-2 on the year and will look to get back to their winning ways with a pair of home contests this weekend in the Villanova Classic. Villanova will take on William and Mary at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 7th and face another Philadelphia rival on Sunday, September 9th in La Salle at 4:30 p.m.
