Feb. 20, 2018

Villanova, Pa. -

Villanova women’s soccer head coach Chris McLain announces the addition of Kristen Vinciguerra to the team as a transfer from UConn.

During her two years at the University of Connecticut, Vinciguerra saw action in 39 matches and made 32 starts.  During her freshman season she earned American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team honors.  She secured her first career goal against Fordham and assist against Colgate during her rookie season.

Prior to UConn, Vinciguerra earned two varsity letters at Northern Highlands Regional, having only played for her freshman and before an injury made her sidelined her sophomore season.  As a freshman, she earned All-League second team, All-County third team, and All-State third team honors while helping her team to an undefeated, 24-0 record.  This team was League Champions, Bergen County Champions and NJSIAA Group 3 State Champions in 2012.

When asked why she chose Villanova, Vinciguerra said, “because of its academic and athletic reputation. I also wanted to be coached by three of the best coaches in college soccer and I am excited to be a part of this program.”
