VILLANOVA, PA. - On Friday, Feb. 7, three Villanova University women's soccer players received postseason honor from Soccer Buzz Magazine. Sophomore defender Michelle Biehl, junior goalkeeper Chrissy Dolan and sophomore forward Laura Johnson earned postseason accolades following a season in which they helped lead the Wildcats to a 14-3-4 overall record and the program's second consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

Biehl received All-America honorable mention from Soccer Buzz, in addition to earned All-Mid Atlantic Region first team honors from the publication. The Wildcat sophomore is one of the nation's as well as the Big East Conference's top all-around defenders. Biehl had Villanova ranked first in the league in goals against average (0.44), tied for first in goals allowed (9), and second in shutouts this season. She also helped the Wildcats on the offensive side where she dished out four assists. At the 2002 Big East Conference Award's Banquet held in November, Biehl was named to the All-Conference second team.

Dolan and Johnson were both named to the Soccer Buzz All-Mid Atlantic Region second team. A dominant offensive force in the conference and on the national scene, Johnson led the Wildcat team in goals (9), assists (9), and points (27) in 2002. She also ranked fourth in the Big East in assists per game (0.47), tied for fourth in points, and tied for eighth in goals. Dolan posted nine shutouts on the year recording a 0.55 goals against average and a .922 save percentage. During the season, she was named Big East goalkeeper of the week four times, also earning national goalkeeper of the week honors by both Soccer America and Soccer Buzz on Oct. 3.
