VILLANOVA, PA. - For the fourth consecutive season, the Villanova University women's soccer program was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for its academic excellence, as head coach Ann Clifton's Wildcats were given the College Team Academic Award.

There were 229 institutions whose soccer teams earned a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average for the 2000-2001 academic year and whose coaches are current NSCAA members. These teams represent all levels of play, from NCAA Division I to NAIA and junior college.

The awards will be presented at the College Coaches Luncheon at the 2002 Convention, to be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Philadelphia Marriott Hotel.
