Women’s Soccer Comes Back to Beat LaSalle 3-2 in 2OT
Wildcats fights back after being down 2-0 at halftime to defeat LaSalle 3-2 in double overtime. Kristin Barbour scored all three goals for the Wildcats in the 101 minute thriller.
Wildcats Hit the Road to Face LaSalle and Harvard This Weekend
The Villanova women’s soccer team (1-6) will play their final weekend of non-conference play, starting off at LaSalle on Thursday night and then travelling to Harvard for a Sunday afternoon matchup. Thursday, game time is slated for 7:00 pm at the McCarthy Stadium in Philadelphia and on Sunday in Cambridge, Massachusetts the Wildcats will kick off at 1:00 pm.
Women’s Soccer Drops Sunday Afternoon Matchup to Lehigh 2-0
The Mountain Hawks were awarded a penalty kick in the 30th minute of the game. Adrian Vitello’s kick was saved by Villanova goalkeeper Emmalee Meyer but the ball deflected off her foot and right back to Vitello. This time she was able to find the back of the net and score Lehigh’s first goal of the game.
Wildcats Take Early Lead but Fall to Saint Joe's in Double-Overtime 3-2
Villanova got on the board first just under 20 minutes into the game. Ida DiClemente was able to pass the ball across the box to Amanda Vocelka who was then able to set Kristin Barbout up for her first goal as a Wildcat. Barbour’s shot was low to the left side of the box and gave the Wildcat a 1-0 lead.
Cats Travel to Saint Joseph’s and Host Lehigh This Weekend
The Villanova women’s soccer team (1-4) will travel down the road to Saint Joseph’s (4-1) on Friday night and will return to the Higgins Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon as they host the Lehigh Mountain Hawks (3-0-1).
Wildcats Fall 2-0 to #8 North Carolina on Sunday Afternoon
Villanova and North Carolina battled tough for the first 45 minutes of play as both sides went into halftime scoreless. Villanova goalkeeper Emmalee Meyer (Massapequa, N.Y.) registered three saves in the period including one in the opening minutes.
No. 24/9 Minnesota Tops Villanova 5-0 on Friday
Ida DiClemente led the Wildcats with four shots during the contest, placing three of those on goal. Emmalee Meyer and Emily Harris spilt time in the net for the Wildcats as Meyer's tailed two saves in the loss.
