The Villanova rowing squad has named the team captains for the 2013-14 season. Head coach Jack St. Clair appointed Laura Saracina, Alanna McCloy and Kelly O'Conor to lead the group that is still finalizing its roster for the upcoming season. All three members are seniors concluding their rowing career at Villanova as members of the Varsity 8 boat.

"I am very excited to be working with three young ladies that show a tremendous amount of leadership in and out of the water," St. Clair said. "These three seniors have personified the ability to showcase the necessary skills that will help us be successful as a unit."

Saracina will enter her second straight year as a team captain. The Falls Church, Va. native is a coxswain in charge of leading the Varsity 8 boat and is studying Political Science.

McCloy has excelled in the water as well as the classroom. She is set to graduate in May, double majoring in a rigorous Biochemistry and Spanish curriculum.

O'Connor has exemplified success as an accomplished rower in high school and was named to the Washington Post All-Metropolitan first team. The Potomac, Md. native is set to graduate with a degree in Computer Science.

The Rumson Boat Race in N.J. on Sept. 28 will be the first regatta to begin the fall season for the Wildcats.
