CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Villanova rowing team returned to competition as they had two boats race in the 47th Annual Head of Charles Regatta in Cambridge this past weekend. This famed event has been known to draw in a crowd of nearly 300,000 to the Charles River.

The Women's Club Eights placed 14th among a field of 28 entries with a time of 19:02.27. This quality finish time has earned them a guaranteed spot for next year, as they were able to meet the set requirement. This is considered as a great accomplishment for the team.

In the Women's Club Fours, Villanova finished 25th out of the 45 teams that competed. The boat crossed the finish line in a time of 21:10.55.

This past weekend marks the second to last competition for Villanova for the fall season. Up next, the Wildcats will head to the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia on October 29 and 30.

As a reminder, on Saturday, October 29, come out and join the Friends of Villanova Rowing and the Villanova Athletic Fund at a reception at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. Food and drinks will be provided at the tent located around the 800 meters to go mark. Event time is from noon to 3.
