Villanova women's rowing started off their season this past weekend when they traveled to the 48th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Mass. The Wildcats featured a Women's Club Eights and Women's Championship Eights boat in the world-renowned race on the Charles River.

In 2011, the Women's Club Eights secured a spot in this year's competition when they finished 14th out of 28 entries with a time of 19:02.27. The Wildcats improved their time in the race on Saturday as their boat crossed the finish line in 18:41.12. This time placed them 18 out of 34 competitors.

Sunday afternoon, the Women's Championship Eights got their chance to race and finished 35th of 40 boats with a time of 19:10.42.

Villanova will compete again next weekend on October 27 and 28 at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa. This will mark their final regatta of the fall season.
