CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Villanova rowing team continued its fall season Sunday at the 49th annual Head of the Charles Regatta when two of its boats competed in the Lightweight 4 and the Championship 8 races.

The Wildcats fared better in the Lightweight 4 race. Team co-captain Alanna McCloy joined Clare Keating, Lauren Woodhull, Katelyn Carter and coxswain Gabriella DeLorenzo to finish 9th with a time 20:57.580. The five-team crew finished 1:34 shy of the 1st place winners, Canada's Western University .

Led by coxswain Laura Saracina, the Villanova 8+ boat placed 38th at the Championship 8 race with a time of 19:45.169. The crew members consisted of Heather Kittredge, Caroline McCaughey, Jennifer DeCata, Cecilia Franko, Carie Ewen, Melanie McDonough, Kelly O'Conor and Kiera McCloy.

 

 

Villanova will return to the water next week when it competes Saturday and Sunday at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadalphia, Pa.
