PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Villanova women's rowing team opened the fall season on October 2 at the annual Head of the Ohio Regatta in Pittsburgh. The 2.75 mile race was contested between the Roberto Clemente Bridge and the 40th Street Bridge on the Ohio River. The race course was reversed from previous years, when the 40th Street Bridge was used as the starting point.

Villanova entered one boat in the Women's Open 4+ race, and beat four other teams with a time of 19:17.45. Villanova beat the next closest boat by 58 seconds in a field that included competitors from Grand Valley, Canisius College and Wheaton College.

The meet was one of five on the 2004 fall schedule for the Wildcats, who compete in the local Navy Day Regatta on October 16.
