PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Villanova concluded the 2012-13 season at the BIG EAST Championships and junior Kelly O'Conor (Potomac, Md.) was named a first team All-BIG EAST selection. As a team the Wildcats registered a seventh place finish in the conference meet, which returned to Mercer Lake for a second consecutive year.
Villanova competed in the first and second Varsity Eight races as well as the Varsity Four at the BIG EAST Championship, advancing to the petite final in each of those competitions. In the first Varsity Eight the Wildcats recorded a time of 7:17.35 in the time trials and later posted a time of 7:39.56 in the final.
In the second Varsity Eight time trials Villanova came in with a time of 7:25.37 and took on Connecticut in the petite final. In that second race the Wildcats recorded a time of 7:54.40, while the Huskies crossed the finish line in 7:42.36.
The final races of the day were in the Varsity Four, where Villanova recorded a time of 8:34.58 in the time trials and 8:52.94 in the petite final.
