Cooper River, NJ - On Saturday, April 14, the Villanova Wildcats women's rowing team was the host school for the Knecht Cup, held in Cooper River, New Jersey. The regatta was scheduled to be a two day event, but do to the weather forecasted for Sunday, the schedule was condensed so that all the races could be run on Saturday.

The Novice Four boat came in third (8:57.4) in their heat, but their time was not good enough to advance to the final.

The Women's Second Varsity Four boat finished third in the finals of their race, crossing the line in 8:37.6. The Novice Eight Petite boat also advanced to the final, placing fourth (7:38.0) after finishing second in their heat.

The Varsity Eight made it to the third final, where they would finish second by two seconds to Southern Methodist.

The Lightweight Fours were also in action, placing fifth in their heat with a time of 8:48.9.

The Wildcats will get a week off before they head to the BIG EAST Championships in Worcester, Massachusetts on April 29.
