SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Villanova Rowing Team traveled to Southern California for the annual San Diego Crew Classic the weekend of April 5th. Villanova participated in the Women's Collegiate Varsity Cal Cup over the weekend at Crown Point Shores Park in Mission Bay.

In the Wildcats preliminary heat they finished in fifth place. Villanova had a time of 6:59.38, less than 2 seconds behind Lehigh University.

Later in the day they competed in the third group where the Wildcats started strong trailing the leader by only 0.93 seconds with 1000 meters to go. They finished the race in third place with a time of 7:23.30.

The Wildcats next event will be April 12th and 13th in Cherry Hill, N.J. for the Knecht Cup.
