WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Villanova rowing squad returned to the water on Saturday as the Wildcats competed in their first regatta of the year at Rollins' boathouse on Lake Maitland in Winter Park, Fla.

It was a perfect day for crew with only 5 mph cross trail winds on the 1,950 meter course, resulting in fast times from the five schools that competed at the Spring Break Race.

Villanova competed in six races throughout the morning as three Wildcat boats finished runner-up and the other three boats placed third.

In the first race of the day, Villanova's Varsity 8 finished behind Nova and Duquesne with a 6:49.6 mark.

The Wildcats best race was a runner-up result in the Varsity 4 race with a 7:35.2 time, which was just shy of 13 seconds behind Nova.
